REVIEW: LE PIRATE NUSA CENINGAN BALI

I’ve been eyeing this cute turquoise cabin for quite some time now, and I finally got a chance to stay in one of them on my recent visit to Nusa Ceningan Bali. Nusa Ceningan is a tiny island at southeast Bali, part of Nusa Islands which contain three island (Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan, and Nusa Penida).

To get there you need to take a speed boat from Sanur, Bali. The ride will take about half an hour and gonna take you to Nusa Lembongan because there’s no boat that will take you directly to Nusa Ceningan. We took Scoot Fast Cruise speed boat that cost IDR 300k return trip Bali-Nusa Lembongan. That’s including transport to and from your accommodation. There’s a small yellow bridge to connect Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan which just fit for pedestrian and motorbike.

We arrived in the island around sunset and it’s already so quiet. There’s no night life whatsoever in the island and we could barely meet people in the street after dark. Even though it’s just 30 minutes from Bali but the ambience is very different. We ate dinner at Le Pirate cafe and the others are just a couple having some drinks.

We got the cabin at the far end, closest to the ocean. The room is clean but it’s so small, like 2×3 meters small which basically just fit the bed which is quite comfortable. There’s a safe deposit box to keep your valuables though. If you ever go there, don’t bring suitcase, you’ll have problem placing it since there’s no storage whatsoever. There’s an AC and also a fan in the room. No TV, but who needs TV when your window’s view is clear blue ocean, right?

There’s an open bathroom in the back of your cabin, which is pretty clean with basic shower, toilet, and small wash basin. The water is a little bit salty but understandable enough since it’s really close to the ocean. Bath towels and beach towels are available in the room.

My favorite part is the pool area. It’s not that big but there are enough pool chairs, wooden chairs, and bean bag chairs. The infinity pool is small, you definitely can’t swim in there. The water’s not very clean but that’s okay since I was happy just to sit by the pool overviewing the ocean which I found super relaxing.

Breakfast is included with the rate. Very basic breakfast : fruit, yogurt, pancake, scrambled egg, orange juice, lime juice, coffee, and tea. The staffs are helpful and can arrange pretty much everything. Need a motorbike to rent? Done (IDR 80k per day). Want to arrange activities such as snorkeling, surfing, or paddle boarding? Done. Need a ride to the bridge after check out? Done (for free).

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Le Pirate Nusa Ceningan. It was very peaceful and relaxing stay, the ambience is very nice. The facility is basic but fill the necessities. I love the simple-but-cute design. Arranging everything is as easy as pie. If your intention is to enjoy the night life, please just stay in Bali. But if you want to be away from the bustling city for a moment and be close with the nature, then this place is perfect for you.
